FAQs
Q: I've never done a trail run before. Is this a good place to start?
A: If you are just getting into trail running/walking this race is a great beginner course. There are lots of flats and short inclines.
Q: Can I walk the course?
A: Walkers are welcome! This race welcomes all types of fitness levels. Please indicate on the registration form if you are walking or running.
Q: What if I get lost or confused where to go?
A: First and foremost stay on the marked trail. There will be flags and signs throughout the trail to guide you along the way. Also there will be volunteers at the main intersections of the course and water stations who you can ask if you are unsure if you are going the right way.
Q: What if nature calls?
A: There is an orange and green outhouse on the island for those who are participating in the long course and bathrooms at the Start and Finish location. If you have to go while you are on the trails be discreet, do your business at least 10 meters from the trail and bury anything solid at least 10 cm deep.

A: Dress appropriate for the weather. We will not cancel if it is raining.
We will have to cancel the event however, if it is thundering and lightning!

A: Due to the course being in close proximity to the river things can change quickly. Course could be cancelled or changed. Trails will be monitored throughout the summer.
Q: What should I bring on race day?
A: Whatever food, water or electrolyte drink you need for the distance you are running and whatever clothing you need for the weather. We encourage all participants to bring extra fluids with them and not rely only on the water stations.
Q: Will we get maps?
A: A map will be in your race package
Q: Can I leave my belongings (jacket or water bottle) with one of the volunteers at the water station during the race?
A: If you are leaving any of your belongings at the water stations there will be a box to put them in. The volunteers at that water station will bring them back to the start/finish line at the end of the race. We are not responsible for any lost items. It is at your own risk.
